Here is my little WebSite! I was born in Dublin, Ireland. I live in France and work in Geneva, for a UN agency. I provide support for our Field Offices around the world, keeping their LANs and PCs in good working order! I play guitar and keyboards and until last year played and sang with a great band - BRAINSTORM! - I also do some skiing and some skydiving (my highest jump is from 4,000 metres) So, check out my WebSite! There is some stuff in here which is pretty personal, but what the hell, as Popeye said: 'I yam what I yam!'
It's true folks! I used to work as a roadie for an Irish celtic rock band called Horslips, in the late '70s. We were doing a tour of England, which culminated at the Roundhouse in London. Of course we wanted a smoke machine, but we didn't have one! I was dispatched in a taxi to Pink Floyd's headquarters in Britannia Row in London, where I rented a smoke machine for the gig! Exciting stuff!
THE LAKE ISLE OF INISHFREE
I will arise and go now
and go to Inishfree
and a small cabin build there
of clay and wattles made.
Nine bean-rows will I have there,
a hive for the honey-bee,
and live alone in the bee-loud glade.
And I shall have some peace there
for peace comes dropping slow,
dropping from the veils of the morning
to where the cricket sings.
There midnight's all a glimmer,
and noon a purple glow,
and evening full of the linnet's wings
I will arise and go now,
for always night and day
I hear lake water lapping,
with low sounds by the shore;
While I stand on the roadway,
or on the pavements grey,
I hear it in the deep heart's core.
William Butler Yeats.
If you can make this out, it's me and my dog, Brandy, surfing the sea at Dunmore East, Co.Waterford, Ireland, about eleven years ago. The surf-jet (an American invention) is powered by a 15 horse-power two stroke engine, and can whizz along at 30 MPH. For Brandy this was the best way to chase seagulls! Sadly he was also fond of chasing sheep, and was put down sometime afterwards, while I was away on an offshore trip.
